About us

A community project, not a business

MazelTov.live is run as a non-profit initiative. Families are never charged, and there are no advertisers whose interests could compete with yours.

Why we built this

Families seeking a shidduch were being asked to choose between two bad options: hand their details to whoever asked, or stay invisible. Matchmakers, meanwhile, were working from scattered notes, forwarded messages and half-remembered conversations. Both sides deserved better.

Our principles

  • Privacy is a default, not a setting somebody has to discover.
  • A person is never reduced to a list of attributes on a public page.
  • Matchmakers are partners in the process and are accountable for their access.
  • Declining is always acceptable, and never requires an explanation.
  • Every access to a sensitive profile layer is recorded.

Who runs it

A small team of volunteers and staff, guided by rabbinic advisors from across the communities we serve. We are deliberately independent of any single kehilla so that families from different backgrounds can use the platform with confidence.

How we are funded

Through donations and communal grants. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising, and we do not charge families. Matchmakers may set their own arrangements with the families they serve; MazelTov takes no part in that.
